SEPTEMBER 2025 UPDATE:
The United States has made changes to how packages will be delivered from other countries to the USA.
AS OF AUGUST 29, 2025, THE USA HAS ENDED THE "DE MINIMIS EXEMPTION" ON ALL SHIPMENTS ENTERING THE UNITED STATES FROM OTHER COUNTRIES. THIS MEANS AMERICAN CUSTOMERS WILL BE SUBJECT TO PAYING NOT ONLY LARGE TARIFFS, BUT NOW ALSO PAYING SIGNIFICANT NEW DUTIES AND TAXES.
Previously, under long-standing trade policy, smaller value shipments were duty-free for Americans. All orders under $800 were allowed a "di minimis exemption" and no duties were charged. The exact amount of the duty that will now be charged to the purchaser is to be determined. However, it does appear that all USA customers receiving packages from our shop in Toronto, Canada will now be subject to two extra charges: a 35% tariff, PLUS duties and taxes (ranging from ~$80 to $200+).
AS A RESULT OF ALL THIS UNCERTAINTY, WE ARE FORCED TO JOIN WITH OVER 30 OTHER COUNTRIES THAT HAVE ALREADY DECIDED TO TEMPORARILY STOP SHIPPING TO THE USA. We will wait until there is more stability and clarity on how the de minimis suspension on shipping from other countries to the USA will be handled. Our hope is to move forward in the best possible way for our valued American customers.
We greatly miss all our wonderful American customers. This was an unexpected change in USA policy and is out of our control. We genuinely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. Since currently the bulk of our customers are in the USA, we have opted for an extended store holiday until the situation is clearer and resolutions are found.
